HCV HOUSING FAIR 2023

MHA is looking for landlords in Shelby County are interested in renting affordable units to families in MHA’s Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program.

Memphis Housing Authority cordially invites you to participate in the Housing Fair 2023 to be held on Tuesday May 30, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Whitehaven Community Center located at Raines-Finley Park, 4318 Graceland Dr, Memphis, TN 38116.

The Housing Fair will feature an exhibition of local landlords and rental and resource- based vendors. Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) participants and applicants searching for affordable housing in the Shelby County area will have the opportunity to meet with local landlords, property managers, government/school officials and other business representatives in one convenient location.

The Housing Fair is an opportunity for owners and renters to come together and learn what the Shelby County housing market has to offer. Owners should plan to showcase available rental units, so that HCV participants and applicants will have the opportunity to ask questions, learn more about available housing options and complete applications on the spot. Owners may also provide sample leases to review and discuss rental terms with participants.

 Do you want to help these families find housing? Please join us at the Housing Fair. At the Housing Fair, landlords will have the opportunity to showcase available rental units. Property representatives can provide materials about their rental units and HCV participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and complete applications on the spot.

What is the date and time of the Housing Fair? The Housing Fair will take place Tuesday May 30, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Whitehaven Community Center located at Raines-Finley Park, 4318 Graceland Dr, Memphis, TN 38116.

When can I begin setting up for the Housing Fair? You may begin setting-up the morning of the Housing Fair, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

What is the set-up for Housing Fair? The set-up includes a table space and 2 chairs. All set-ups and materials must be removed from the facility not later than 2:00 pm.

What should I bring to the Housing Fair? You should bring marketing materials for your property, e.g. brochures, sample lease & lease terms, application & eligibility criteria, to provide to potential renters.  We strongly encourage you to bring the equipment/materials needed to screen and approve potential renters on the spot.

Can I provide snacks at the Housing Fair? You may provide complimentary snacks and beverages to potential renters.

Will my photo be taken at the Housing Fair? he Housing Fair is being held at the Community Center in a public area; therefore, photographers/ videographers may randomly shoot footage or take pictures and participants may be captured on camera.
